Kentucky Burgoo
Ingredients
- 0 pounds mixed meats (beef, chicken, pork, lamb, etc)
- 0 cups chicken broth
- 0 cups beef broth
- 0 cups water
- 0 large onion, diced
- 0 stalks celery, diced
- 0 green bell pepper, diced
- 0 large potatoes, diced
- 0 large carrots, diced
- 0 cup peas
- 0 cup yellow corn
- 0 cup lima beans
- 0 cup okra
- 0 cloves garlic, minced
- 0 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 0 can (29 oz) tomato puree
- 0 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- 1 Layer ingredients in a slow cooker, starting with the meat and liquids, and ending with tomatoes.
- 2 Cover and cook on low heat for 8-9 hours until meats and vegetables are tender. Add salt & pepper to taste.
- 3 If using chicken or other meat with bones, remove from slow cooker, let cool, and remove meat from bones. Cut meat into bite sized pieces and return to slow cooker.
